För någon månad sedan gjorde Pitchfork om sin lista över 90-talets bästa album. Devisen att musikhistorien ständigt måste skrivas om var naturligtvis återigen sann. Den första listan gjordes vid 90-talets slut, med de ögon och öron Pitchfork-redaktionen hade då. Omlistningen gjordes nu, när både världen och Pitchfork gått vidare. Det som framför allt märks är att hiphopen tagit plats och fått utrymme på listan. Vissa av de som kanoniserades då har glömts bort till förmån för andra, då bortglömda.

Själv blev jag inspirerad av deras lista och satte mig för att göra min egen. Arbetet var både roligare än jag trodde och mycket tråkigare, varför det krävdes en ganska utdragen paus innan jag slutförde arbetet.

Listan är mitt 90-tal. Det som var viktigast och bäst för mig, inte för musikhistorien. Och kanske framför allt för min lyssning nu. Jag varken kan eller vill sätta mig in i hur det kändes då. Det här är mer min ögonblicksbild av 90-talet utifrån var det tagit mig och vad jag fortfarande älskar.
